The men were detained on arrival at Reus Airport on Tuesday night and then rearrested after running amok at their hotel. Tour operators Thomas Cook claimed the men smoked in the aeroplane toilets, swore at staff and drank vodka. They also allegedly sexually assaulted air stewardesses and bit one on the arm. Thomas Cook said the trouble began shortly after their charter flight took off from Glasgow Airport. Further trouble Spanish police in the Catalonian city of Reuson, in the Costa Dorada, boarded the plane on its arrival and arrested the Scots, who began fighting with the officers and each other. They were released without charge but police were twice called to their hotel after further trouble later on Tuesday night. The men were said to have been thrown out of the hotel by management and have been barred from ever flying with Thomas Cook again. The travel firm said they will ask British authorities to act if the Spanish police do not press charges. |
